1. Overview
This Privacy Policy explains how Async Digital (“we”, “us” or “our”) processes information through Remote for Samsung TV (the “App”), package identifier samsung.remote.asyncdigital. The App discovers and controls compatible Samsung Smart TVs, launches TV apps, accepts keyboard input, and can cast photos or videos from your device.
Remote for Samsung TV is an independent application and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Samsung Electronics.
2. Information we process
Depending on the features you use, the App may process:
- Local network and device data: IP addresses, TV model or name, device identifiers exposed by your TV, connection state, and network responses required to discover and control compatible TVs.
- Remote commands and keyboard input: commands you choose to send to your TV. Avoid entering sensitive information unless you trust the TV app receiving it.
- Photos and videos: media you explicitly select for casting. The App accesses selected items only to provide the casting feature.
- App preferences: connected-device details, settings, and premium status stored on your device.
- Purchase information: product, subscription status, and transaction data needed to provide or restore premium access. Apple processes payment details; we do not receive your full card number.
- Support communications: your email address and any information you include when contacting us.
- Technical data: limited device, diagnostic, advertising, or usage data that may be processed by integrated services, subject to your device settings and applicable consent requirements.
3. Local network, TV control, and media
The App asks for local network access to find compatible TVs and communicate with them over your Wi-Fi network. Remote-control commands are sent to the TV you select. Your phone and TV generally need to be on the same network. Your TV may display a pairing prompt that you must approve.
When you select a photo or video to cast, the App may temporarily make that item available over your local network so the selected TV can play it. Stop casting or close the feature when finished. Do not use casting on a network you do not trust.
4. Device permissions
- Local network: discover, pair with, and control compatible TVs.
- Photos or media: access items you choose to cast.
- Internet: load online services, verify purchases, and support app functionality.
- Notifications or tracking: requested only if a feature or integrated service requires it and the operating system requires permission.
You can deny or revoke optional permissions in device Settings, but the related feature may stop working.
5. Service providers
The App may rely on Apple services for App Store distribution, in-app purchases, subscription management, and platform diagnostics. If advertising or analytics services are present in the version you use, those providers may process device identifiers, approximate location derived from IP address, ad interactions, and diagnostic information under their own policies and your consent choices. The developer website publishes an app-ads.txt record for authorized advertising seller verification.
6. How information is used
We use information to discover and connect to TVs, deliver remote and casting functions, remember your settings, fulfil or restore purchases, troubleshoot and secure the App, respond to support, and comply with law. We do not sell the personal media you select for casting.
7. Retention and security
Preferences and connected-device details may remain on your device until you clear App data or uninstall the App. Media is used for the casting session and is not intended to be retained by us. Providers may retain limited transaction, advertising, security, or diagnostic records under their policies. Support emails are kept as reasonably necessary to answer your request and maintain business records. No transmission or storage system is completely secure.
8. Your choices and rights
You can revoke local-network or media access, stop a casting session, remove the App, manage subscriptions through your Apple account, and adjust advertising or tracking permissions in device Settings. Depending on your location, you may request access, correction, deletion, restriction, or objection regarding personal information we control. Contact us to submit a request; verification may be required.
9. Children
The App is not directed to children under 13 or the higher minimum age required by local law. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children in violation of applicable law. A parent or guardian who believes a child provided personal information should contact us.
10. International processing and changes
Providers may process information in countries other than your own, subject to applicable safeguards. We may update this Policy when the App, providers, or legal requirements change. The effective date above identifies the current version.
